5 Reasons to do a season in Morzine this winter!

Morzine is one of our favourite ski resorts, so for a more in-depth look at this great resort, check out some of our top reasons below.

The Skiing…

The Portes du Soleil boasts the largest international ski area in Europe, linking France and Switzerland across 8 French resorts (Avoriaz, Abondance, St Jean d’Aulps, La Chapelle d’Abondance,Châtel,Les Gets,Montriond and Avoriaz) and 6 Swiss resorts (Champéry, Champoussin, Les Crosets, Morgins, Torgon and Val d’Illiez). If you’re going to live in the Alps for 5 months, the bigger playground you have to explore the better!

There’s also 5 big snow parks across the Morzine and Avoriaz sectors of the Portes Du Soleil. The area attracts one of the largest freestyle scenes in the French Alps in both Seasonnaires and professionals and the Superpipe in Avoriaz is also one of the only permanent large features which means you don’t have to wait until spring for the freestyle season!

The Apres-ski…

In cliché terms, a season in Morzine typically grants you the best of both worlds; the opportunity to indulge in daily apres and great nightlife against the backdrop of a picturesque and traditional alpine village. It’s one of the oldest alpine towns in France with a unique history but has fast adapted to the modern ski tourist’s lifestyle.

The snow-sure skiing all season in Avoriaz…

Also a large selling point for tourists, there’s always good snow high up in the Portes Du Soleil. Morzine may sit at a low altitude of 1000m, but you can still bank on some of the best snow in the Alps in Avoriaz which reaches as high as 2466m. Good conditions also mean happy guests!

Rock the Piste Festival in March.

Rock the Piste comes to the Portes Du Soleil in the warmer months of winter and spreads itself across 7 days and the 3 resorts of Les Gets, Avoriaz and Morzine. It’s one of the biggest names in music events in the Alps and everything is free entry with your season lift pass!

The job opportunities…

There’s a massive chalet community in Morzine of both English and French operators. The Seasonnaire scene is really sociable and integrated and generally, attracts more year-round seasonnaires than any other resort.

We always have loads of vacancies in Morzine so to apply, send your CV, menu plan, food photos and references to enquiries@silverswanrecruitment.com.
