On December 6th, Silver Swan will be taking to the streets of London to help clean up the local area in our #ChristmasCleanUp2019, and we’re calling upon you to do the same in your own local community.

Our London #ChristmasCleanUp2019

We will be heading out to the London Bridge area from noon on December 6th to clear the streets of litter and other pollution. And of course, as it’s Christmas, we’ll be wearing our favourite festive jumpers while taking on this mission.

Our #ChristmasCleanUp2019 is the third of our clean up missions, following our East London Waterways Clean Up earlier this year and our Antibes Big Beach Clean Up. in France this autumn.

Now we are on a mission to have the streets of London looking spick and span before the Christmas season sets in and ahead of the new decade beginning, and we are encouraging you to take the same steps in your own local area by joining us on our #ChristmasCleanUp2019 mission.

How You Can Get Involved

Plastic Patrol

We will be working with Plastic Patrol again on our #ChristmasCleanUp2019 and will be logging all of our findings into the Plastic Patrol App. Plastic Patrol is a not for profit organisation which is working to create the world’s largest survey of inland plastic pollution. Anyone can download the Plastic Patrol app and log data into their database, so you can share your findings from your own clean up in the app too.

Plastic Patrol are set to release a report of their data in early 2020.

What to Expect

Our previous clean ups have surfaced all sorts of findings from opera tickets to duvets! One of the biggest problems we have found in our previous clean ups is discarded cigarette butts.

Following our #ChristmasCleanUp2019 we will be sharing the results of the litter we find so we can identify some of the biggest litter issues facing London.

With Christmas just around the corner, it is more important than ever for us all to give back a little to our community, and one simple way to start is by heading out and cleaning up the streets near us. That is why we chose to run our #ChristmasCleanUp2019 in our local area this December, and we would love it if you would join us in doing the same.

And don’t forget to don your festive jumpers too!
