What to Expect Working as a PRIVATE HOUSEKEEPER
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a good work ethic, high levels of attention to detail who has some good previous private house experience in a housekeeping team, or have worked in a hotel team. Working within a Private Household requires an utmost level of trust and it is essential you have solid references from all of your previous employers before an offer is usually made.
You will need to adapt to each home you work in as the job requirements will vary. Generally speaking, though it will be your responsibility to ensure the house is clean and tidy at all times. You will be required to clean bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas daily. You will manage all the laundry and ironing and often manage the wardrobes. Some roles may require you to shop and cook for the family. The more formal households will require you to be knowledgeable when it comes to cleaning antique furniture, cleaning delicate materials and looking after silver. You will usually work 40-45 hour per week over five days.
If you have good references and good housekeeping experience then this could be a good position for you. Our vacancies will either be live-in housekeeper or live out positions, jobs in London usually vary.
