Note

A lovely HNW family are searching for a part-time houseman/handyman to assist on their estate, based in Cambridge, MA. This is their main residence, the family consists of two Principals and one teenager, there is also a dog that resides at the residence. The position will be to work alongside the estate manager and two housekeepers. The schedule will be 25 hours per week minimum to include weekends on occasion, so a degree of flexibility is required. As a potential candidate you will have previous experience in a similar role in private residences and with the maintenance and operations of a large property. The ideal candidate will be professional, discreet and very hands on. This is a live-out position.

Responsibilities

• General handyman services, home maintenance tasks, upkeep and repairs (indoor/outdoor)
• Maintaining household equipment and technology, ensuring systems are operating correctly
• Ensure the home is in good working order for the principals/guests at all times
• Keep detailed house maintenance records for review and to ensure all equipment and appliances are serviced as scheduled.
• General vehicle upkeep/care
• Running errands, ordering equipment, supplies, tools for the household.
• Hot Spa maintenance knowledge
• Gardening responsibilities
• Additional duties as needed and requested

Ideal Candidate

• Based around Cambridge, MA
• Strong command of the English language, good communication skills
• Previous experience in a similar role for high-profile clients and proven longevity
• Ability to work independently and under instruction of estate manager
• High level of flexibility and willingness to be on call to the Principals
• Enthusiasm, dedication to responsibilities and a positive demeanour
• Professional, discreet and well presented
• Excellent driver and clean driving record
• Must be eligible to work in the US
• Excellent references required from previous employers
