Note

An experienced private chef is needed on a beautiful rural estate in Ireland. This is an amazing opportunity for a chef to work for an UHNW family in County Limerick, Ireland. This is a fully staffed household, and the chef will report to the estate general manager. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in private households and 5* hospitality settings. They are offering an excellent salary, 2 bedroom cottage and an opportunity to make the role your own. Please note you MUST have the right to live and work in Ireland to apply. Candidates should have a preference for life in the countryside.

Responsibilities

• Management of the kitchen
• Planning schedules in advance to ensure chef cover is in place 7 days a week when the owners are in residence. This planning is in conjunction with the second chef
• Preparing and cooking beautifully presented family style meals with occasional fine-dining and private dinners / parties
• Extensive menu development, creation, and planning
• Meal related budget management and shop to replenish food stocks as required, maintaining expiration dates
• Always maintaining meticulous standards of hygiene
• Using fresh, high-quality produce sourced locally and internationally
• In addition to food preparation for the family, preparation of lunch for 15 staff members (Monday to Friday) who work in the main residence and offices
• Discussing the daily menu with the Butler / Family in advance
• Very occasional ad hoc and miscellaneous duties when required
• Arranging additional kitchen staff for larger dinner functions / parties

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience within a private household
• Ability to work professionally and respectfully within a luxury household
• Excellent knowledge of menu design and cooking from family style / casual dining to fine dining
• A respectful individual with a good and friendly attitude
• Excellent attention to detail
• A passion for fresh seasonal produce and ingredients
• Excellent communication skills
• Impeccable health & safety and hygiene knowledge
• Driver preferred

Package

Salary: €65,000 + Gross per Annum (DOE)
• Working week: Monday – Friday (flexibility needed when principals are in residence)
• Accommodation: A lovely 2 bedroom single storey property separate the main residence
• A small house pet will be considered, and partners welcome too
