We are looking for a welcoming and hospitable villa couple for a family villa in Ibiza in July and August.
The villa is rented each year by the family for 2 months, it becomes a home from home.

This is a seasonal position with the opportunity to stay on in the family’s chalet in the French Alps for the winter.

Responsibilities

  • Offering warm hospitality and looking after the principal and his guests
  • Creating a weekly menu of light Mediterranean dishes, Ottolenghi style salads, grilled meats, and fish. Mainly lunches and dinners, the family tends to prepare own breakfast, but fairly ad-hoc. You will have weeks where you will be cooking for 4-6 people, and weeks where you will just be feeding only the principal!
  • Preparing, laying out, plating up and clearing of all meals
  • Daily cleaning and tidying of the villa (making beds, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen)
  • Weekly deep cleaning of villa preparing for the arrival of new guests, laundry, beds
  • Weekly shopping for food in Santa Eularia at Mercadona
  • Driving of family and guests around to restaurants etc. and all airport runs (20 minutes to the airport)
  • Ad-hoc other duties as required

Ideal Candidate

  • The chef must be passionate about rustic food, ideally trained, and happy to design his or her own menu within a budget. With a maximum of 10 to cook for, the chef must be able to add some creative garnishes and plate up beautifully. Although we expect a high level of cooking, we don’t ask our chefs to spend all day in the kitchen. The food should be a good standard of home cooking, not haute cuisine.
  • The villa host will be professional, presentable and friendly, and their role will involve looking after the principal and the family, and his guests, making them feel welcome and happy in the villa. Your main role will involve maintaining extremely high standards of cleanliness, which will involve daily cleaning throughout the villa. You will also be “front of house” at meals, ensuring that the quality of the food delivered by the chef is matched by your levels of service. You will both need a passport, a UK National Insurance Number, and at least one of you will hold a clean, valid drivers’ license and be over the age of 25 (for car insurance purposes). You will get one day off a week.

Villa Couple
Mallorca

We are recruiting for a couple for the summer to run a beautiful 7-bedroom property on the East coast of Mallorca. These will be full-time positions on a seasonal contract. The ideal couple should have solid experience working together, either in private households, chalets or yachts. We are seeking committed candidates with a happy disposition, a “can do” attitude and good work ethic who are flexible to turn their hand to anything needed and fit around the client’s needs.

The Couple will be responsible for all the day-to-day operations of the property for the period during their employment.  Both individuals will be required to be hands-on, yet ultimately discreet and not overbearing on the guests.

Responsibilities 

  • Customer service delivery, including the preparation, laying and packing away of a daily breakfast
  • Preparation and service of evening meals
  • Daily provisioning and shopping for the clients
  • Proactive communication with the guests to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction and attention to daily requirements and special requests
  • Laundering and ironing of all guest towels and bedsheets
  • Saturday changeover, all bedrooms, all communal areas, kitchen, etc…
  • Checking inventories of all linen, bedrooms items and kitchen utensils on changeover day
  • General tidiness of outside areas and terraces through the week
  • Daily housekeeping – bed making, bathroom clean, tidiness and organisation of all communal areas
  • Maintaining hygiene, health & safety standards in the kitchen
  • Some concierge duties, i.e. booking restaurants or taxis, as and when necessary
  • The couple must be friendly, reliable, experienced, have the highest standards with and a keen eye for detail and customer service – a 5-star mentality is needed.
  • The couple will have a flexible approach – in some weeks the guests will require more service than others.

Ideal Candidate

  • At least one of you must have a full, clean driving license
  • Cooking skills for large numbers is a requirement
  • Fluent spoken English and a good level of spoken Spanish would be beneficial
  • EU nationalities
  • Excellent references
  • Strong organizational skills and a pleasant friendly manner

Villa Couple
Corsica

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced chef and host couple to manage a Luxury Villa in the Corsica this summer season (June to September)

Responsibilities

The Chef:

  • Provisioning, preparing and cooking daily breakfast and 6 evening meals per week. (Sometimes guests requests to swap dinner for lunch service).
  • Processing weekly accounts and working with the client’s dietary requirements.
  • Contacting clients prior to their stay to arrange their menu and discuss any provisioning prior to arrival.

The Host:

  • Daily housekeeping and mid-stay linen change.
  • Hosting meals and assisting clients with concierge service, booking activities, reservations etc.

Together:

  • Together you will manage the daily pool and spa checks (an external company manages the maintenance of pools and gardens).
  • As a couple you are responsible for the villa cleaning, manage and report any problems and be able to call out contractors as and when required.
  • Work closely with our office team on all client arrival details and requests.

The ideal candidates

  • A fun, enthusiastic couple who have managed a luxury villa or chalet before in the respective roles.
  • The applicants must each have a UK National Insurance number and a UK bank account.
  • One of the applicants must drive with a clean driving license.

Barge Host – Seasonal

We are currently recruiting for a hostess for a luxury hotel barge in France. The vessel cruises the French canals, so this is an exciting opportunity for someone to explore beautiful regions of France. The barge is also recruiting a chef for the summer season, so this position can be open for a chef/host couple.

The “Barge Host” is a pivotal position, and you will have a huge impact on the guests’ time on board. Engaging daily with our guests you must be someone who is energetic, organized and focused on providing the guests with a seamless, stress-free, quality experience during their time on board.

Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

1) Maintain the highest of standards of cleanliness and presentation of all guest areas. This will include thorough daily cleaning etc of guest cabins, en-suites and salon.

2) Preparing the table and serving/presenting the food, cheeses and wines at mealtimes. A high level of silver service experience is preferred though training can be offered if necessary.

3) Serving pre-meal drinks, preparing basic cocktails and generally “checking” with the guests that they have everything they need.

4) Having an eye for detail, aesthetics and pride in your work. The barge is one of the most beautifully presented anywhere on the canal network and we take great collective pride in ensuring these high standards are observed throughout the season.

4) Keeping the bar area stocked up, and ice available.

5) Learning about our fine wines on board and presenting them when serving at meal times. Maintaining wine stocks in the chill cabinets and inventory in store on the boat.

6) Keeping on top of laundry and ironing and tidy storage of products under the remit of the hostess. Sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases go to external laundries, tablecloths, napkins, towels and robes are laundered on board.

7) Being prepared to learn about the local area where we cruise, a little knowledge helps when guests are enquiring about the route and our progress through the week.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have several years’ experience in hospitality at a 4 or 5* level. We are looking for a candidate with great initiative and someone who is flexible, as whilst this is an outline description of your principal duties, you may be required to assist with other aspects of managing the barge.

Responsibilities of the Chef

  • Have a good working knowledge of food in general and have an active interest in the food of the region.
  • You will need to be able to demonstrate good presentation skills and be organised with your provisioning, as you’re not always close to a supermarket.
  • You will provide the breakfast, lunch and dinner for the 6 guests who will be staying aboard with 2 lunches being had off of the boat. Also cooking for your fellow crew members and preparing crew food is essential for a happy boat!
  • Lunches can be plated or buffet, but ideally should include both. The evening meals are more formal and usually consist of four courses, starter, main, cheese and dessert with perhaps an amuse bouche to create a perfect balance of flavours and interest.
  • The hotel barge galley is the Chef’s domain, and safety, cleanliness, and food hygiene are the up-most priorities and the responsibility of the Chef.
  • It is essential that the Chef has suitable training and holds relevant certificates. Safety must include awareness and management of all safety equipment. Food hygiene must correspond to the strict norms of the restaurant industry.
  • The Chef is also responsible for shopping, stock management and bookkeeping.
